Apostille from Texas

In the U.S. state of Texas, Apostilles are issued in accordance with the Hague Apostille Convention of 1961 by the Texas Secretary of State. The Secretary of State’s Authen­tications Unit, located in Austin, is the sole Competent Authority authorized to affix Apostilles on Texas public documents. Eligible documents include certified copies of birth, marriage, and death certificates (after certification by the Texas Department of State Health Services or local registrars), notarized documents, court judgments, educational records, and other official papers originating in Texas. By issuing the Apostille, the Secretary of State certifies the authenticity of signatures, seals, or stamps, ensuring recognition in all Hague Convention member states.
