Apostille from Iowa
In the U.S. state of Iowa, Apostilles are issued in accordance with the Hague Apostille Convention of 1961 by the Office of the Iowa Secretary of State. The Secretary of State’s Notary Division, located in Des Moines, is the sole Competent Authority authorized to affix Apostilles on Iowa public documents. Eligible documents include certified copies of birth, marriage, and death certificates (after proper certification by the Iowa Department of Public Health), notarized documents, court judgments, educational records, and other official papers originating in Iowa. By issuing the Apostille, the Secretary of State certifies the authenticity of the signature, seal, or stamp, ensuring recognition across all Hague Convention member states.
